It is over.
On Wednesday 26th June 2013, I finished my part-time contract as a Teacher of the Deaf at the school. I had a personal conviction not to stay in my present position and therefore made the decision to leave my job. There was this strong feeling over the Easter break that I shouldn’t reapply for my position when it would be re-advertised for formality purposes. That by June when my contract was up, it was time for me to go.
I was further convinced that this decision was right for me during the period of rest when I was recuperating from my back injury. Since the Easter break, I have seen a plethora of opportunities come my way. God has closed some doors to redirect my path and opened up many others. I do not know what the future holds for me as I step out into the unknown. Lots of new developments. It is somewhat scary yet exciting. I know that I will have to live by faith and to be prepared to be stretched personally and spiritually. I cannot comprehend God’s ways and His mind. His plans for me are far better than the plans I have for myself. I can only see the present but He sees what is the beginning and the end.
I find assurance in Isaiah 55:8-11
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Lately, another verse has also come to my mind several times and I acknowledge and know that God is in control. He has wonderful plans for me.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11
